Early Bird Deadline - AND a Mini-Worshop!

I can hardly believe that the "Tools and Techniques" conference in Jackson is only two weeks away. Can you?? From Timmy Boyle's comedy Friday night to critiques and editor/agent appointments, to worshops by authors and others on Saturday, it will no doubt be LOTS of fun and a great time of learning and fellowship.

And if you haven't registered yet, remember that the early bird deadline is THIS COMING MONDAY, October 15. So fill out your registration form (click here to get it) and send your money soon! October 26 and 27 will be here before you know it.

AND, as if that isn't enough (or for those of you who can't make it), the GLC chapter has ONE MORE mini-workshop for 2012 - and it's coming up next month!

This workshop, hosted by GLC vice president Johnna Postic, will be Saturday, November 10 in the Dearborn Heights.

The main "writer event," a presentation by multipublished Christian author (and GLC member) Gail Gaymer Martin, will be at 11:30am at Panera Bread, at 26580 Ford Road, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127. Gail will share tips on learning and honing the craft of fiction and will have a Q & A time. Please RSVP to Johnna Postic at

But that's not all. At 9 AM that morning, Johnna's church has a craft fair that's just around the corner from Panera Bread. Johnna would love to meet everyone at the church (Fairhaven Assembly of God at 876 N. Beech Daly Rd., Dearborn Heights, MI 48127), at 9 AM (or whatever time you get there) for browsing & shopping at the craft fair. From there, the group will travel to Panera Bread to meet with Gail.

And afterward, anyone who wants to do further shopping (the Panera is in a strip mall, plus Westland Mall is only ten to fifteen minutes away) can join their writing friends to do just that!

COST: The price of your own lunch at Panera Bread and whatever you'd like to put into a love offering for Gail. (We're not going to talk about what you might spend at the craft fair or during the shopping spree!)

BOTH of these events sound great, don't they? Hope you can make it to one OR both!

  1. Can't make the Dearborn Height's extravaganza due to a personal writer's retreat I've scheduled for the entire first full week of November- including both weekends book-ending the week.

I'm SO looking forward to the conference and reconnecting with the writers of our state -
    this group is amazing!

Good job, Joanne with this posting!
