June 2014 Newsletter

Hello Great Lakes members,

There are lots of things happening within our group. This month we are sharing news from these three members

Dawn Crandall’s blog tour for her debut novel, The Hesitant Heiress from Whitaker House, will begin mid-July. The blog tour will run until the end of August and will include interviews, reviews and spotlights of the novel, and lots of giveaways. The book is considered historical romantic suspense and is book one of a three book series. The release day is August 1. Sarah Grimm signed a contract for her upcoming debut novel with Splashdown Books.

Marianne Evans completed the final installment of her Sisters in Spirit series and turned it in to Pelican Book Group. She also turned in her Christmas-themed novella, Snowflake Kisses. Now she's busy working on Forgiveness, a contemporary women's fiction novel that will be released by Harbourlight Books, an imprint of Pelican Book Group.

Joy Avery-Mellville now has three critique contracts, working with multi-published and pre-published authors.

You may be surprised to learn that many of the skills you have acquired in your writing have also prepared you to speak not only effectively but eloquently about your work. Judith’s presentation will help you develop the skills needed to orally present your work.

Judith Eick is a member of Toastmasters International, accomplishing Competent Communicator and Competent Leadership goals. She is currently working on advanced manuals for Storytelling and Entertaining Speaker. She is a member of the Southeast Christian Speakers Network and regularly speaks at Christian meetings and schools.

June has provided us a beautiful month. So soon it is July! Perhaps there are fireworks flying from your computer keys as you strive to complete your goals before the ACFW conference. May you be blessed to seek time with God, Please know others are praying for you and your labor is not in vain.
